Renovation and new construction in harmony
The construction site in Haren for the MIVB was one of the most impressive projects MSB has realized in recent years. It involved a combination of new construction and renovation, spanning an area of more than 50,000 m² of roofs and facades. The painter’s tunnel: an eye-catcher in new construction
An important part of this project was the construction of a completely new painter’s tunnel. This tunnel was fully clad with 15 cm thick sandwich panels, a material that excels in both insulation value and durability. Thanks to the robust construction, the painter’s tunnel can withstand intensive use, while the sleek finish ensures a modern appearance. Renovation; working on an old structure
The second part of the assignment concerned the renovation of an existing complex. There, the old roof was completely removed and replaced with new sandwich panels and gutters. This involved 30,000 m² of roof area, spread over a series of gable roofs. The challenge here was that the works had to take place on a light steel structure that had been in use for decades. This type of renovation requires extreme precision, because any deviation or inaccuracy can have major consequences for the stability and connection of the panels.

Complexity in detail
What made this project unique was not only its size, but also the multitude of technical details:

Lead time and schedule
The entire project took a year and a half to complete. This is a particularly tight schedule for an assignment of this scale, especially because various phases flowed into each other: dismantling, preparation, installation of roof and facade, and finishing. Through careful coordination and clear communication with the client, we were able to complete the entire process within the expected period.
